My cousin was horrified that I would take a picture of an animal she regarded as a nuisance, but I appreciate the gecko for its cuteness and habit of eating yucky bugs. Here it poses on a garbage bag, frozen in terror, I am sure, after I chased it around the house for half an hour taking pictures of it experimenting with the macro closeup on my new camera.

don't front, you know you only like the gecko because of the car insurance ads. especially the one when the gecko does the robot!
yes --aren't geckos great! and well, though i must confess and certain fondness for the reptile in the commercials, i do like them in the flesh as well... i love all of them. i found myself chasing a lizard with a blue tale, some kind of skink i think, in front of my cousin's house...
look how i wrote "tale"! i meant tail of course. and the camera is a canon elph sd500, it toally rocks. 7.1 megapixels. my know it all niece says no software can handle that anyway, but i told her we'd grow into it, my camera and i.
